Best Sunglasses for Your Face Shape

Best Sunglasses for Your Face Shape

With spring and summer just around the corner, sunnier days are surely ahead. When the rays come out, so do the Ray-Bans. Sunglasses are a small accessory with big potential. By choosing the right sunglasses for your face shape, you can shield the sun and look cool as hell at the same time.

There are five main face shapes: heart, round, square, oval, and diamond. While each one is better suited for a certain style of sunglasses, each shape still has plenty of options. The absolutely massive range of sunglass styles on the market makes limits seem impossible.

Heart-Shaped: Cat-Eye or Square Glasses

Round Face: Square, Rectangular, or Club Shaped Glasses

Square-Shaped: Oval, Cat Eye, or Aviators (Rimless is also better for all) Glasses

Oval Face: Rectangle, Square, Cat-Eye, or Round Glasses (All should be larger than eyes or oversized)

Diamond-Shaped: Browline, Oval, or Round Glasses

***a sixth shape is added to a lot of guides. However, that sixth shape changes source by source, which is why I provided the five consistently agreed upon shapes.

You can use the images below to determine your face shape:

Oval and Round faces have softer features, so you want more angular glasses to bring distinction. Square-shaped faces have harder features, so rounded glasses will help soften those lines, not make them harsher. Diamond-shaped faces have softer edges, meaning rounded glasses will compliment those dimensions. Heart-shaped faces have both soft and hard features, which leads to glasses that will balance the two being optimal.
